Pumpkins, Halloween, and more!
Today we continued on with the Community Helper theme, focusing on People to Keep us Healthy. We spoke today on doctors, and what to expect when we visit the doctor. We read Froggy Goes to the Doctor, and the big book Ten Little Monkeys. We had a bunch of doctor props in the dress up area:
I put out a new sorting and fine motor activity, Halloween erasers. The children could sort them by color or character.
We added a new Ms. Potato Head as well...a witch!
One activity for the table today was a doctor and dentist Barbie set. The girls and BOYS loved it!
Also we had opportunities to practice writing with laminated tracing cards and dry erase markers.
Ms. Adrian will be here with us everyday from 10:00-12:30. She will be a "nutrition aide", making lunch and freeing up my time to focus more on small groups and assessments and more curriculum activities. Today was her first day, and it worked out great! I was able to finish up some assessments and be more involved with the children during their free play time.
We had a great time Friday at the Daddy and Me Pumpkin Party! I had four families who came, and here are the pictures I took during the fun:
Brayden and his dad, Chris.
Bekah and her dad, Tom.
Gracie and her mom, Joey had fun, too!
Sweet vampire, Brayden!
Our family invovlement nights are lots of fun...hope to see even more of you at the next one! ;)
