Fire truck visit!
Today we had three fire fighters come to visit and they brought a fire truck and an ambulance for us to see! We have been talking about this visit most of the week, so I was a bit surprised to see some of the children react very bashfully when our visitors came. Most of them warmed up to them, eventually. Ms. Adrian was here, and my friend Ms. Debbie had also stopped by, so we had 6 adults and 8 kids, an excellent ratio for this event, I think!
First they came inside to talk to us about what their job is and the fire safety rules they want us to know.
Brayden shows the firemen how we can stop, drop & roll.
We all got Junior firefighter stickers and a coloring book to take home!
Then we got to go outside and look at the firetruck, inside and out!
After coming inside, we settled in to our day.
A community helper matching game
Of course we had to play with fire fighter figures!
We are still enjoying our cloud dough we made yesterday.
After lunch, we got to do a cooking project! We made this afternoon's snack, which consists of a whopping two ingredients:
Paizley said: "It smells like carrots!"
We all took turns adding the ingredients, mixing, and even using the electric mixer (with some help). The mixture turns out really thick, so we used an ice cream scoop to put it in the muffin tins, and baked them during nap time. They turned out super yummy, and we enjoyed them this afternoon!
I am excited about tonight's Daddy & Me Pumpkin Party at the Gates pavillion/picnic area. Please come if you can any time between 5:30 and 7:00 for a fun time!
We really enjoyed them coming to talk to us! Definitely a highlight of our year so far!
