Deep in the Woods...

Welcome back! I hope everyone had a great spring Break, I know mine was jam packed but I had a good time with my kids visiting old friends in Conway and crossing off a few things on my to-do list.

This week we learned about animals in the woods. We began the week making a chart of ALL the animals we thought would call the woods their home. As we learned about forest animals throughout the week, we narrowed our list down. We crossed off the animals that we found out did not live in the woods, and added the new animals we had learned about. We discovered that some animals live in caves, an others burrow under ground to make a safe home, while some build a home using sticks and other items in nature to live in. We read lots of books, both fiction and non-fiction, and we used a lot of props in our dramatic play and block area to pretend to be animals in the woods.

It was a perfect and busy week!

Be brought back our smaller colored blocks in the block center...that's why we rotate toys so much. After a month or two it's like it's all new again!
