Fire Safety week

This week we learned about fire safety. It was a very exciting week, highlighted with our family field trip to the fire station. The children loved it, and it has been the talk of the classroom all week.
In circle time, we learned to "stop, drop, and roll" if our clothes catch on fire. We learned to "stay low and go" if there is smoke in our home and we need to get out. The firefighters taught us not to be afraid of them or hide if ever we are caught in a fire. It's alot to take in, but we have been repeating and relearning all week. We did a fire drill as well on Monday to practice what to do at school in case we ever have a real fire.

We had fire truck puzzles

And lots and lots of books as well

We also had fall and pumpkin books and activities.

Logan is creating with the orange play dough with the pumpkin cutters.

Bekah using the fall patterning cards in the math center.

Londan measures pumpkins in the math center.

Other things happening this week in the classroom:

Junior works the clock puzzle-shapes, numbers, and sequencing practice.

Gabriel had Bekah in his barber shop

Isabella likes to pretend she is a mommy. She has a baby brother at home so has some experience!

Londan helps out in the classroom with cleaning the tables. We take turns cleaning the tables and setting them for meals and afternoon snack.

Gabriel taking a phone call while using the magna tiles...multi tasking!

We love the Halloweeen Eye Spy book

We have lots of writing going on in our classroom!

The boys are writing their names after breakfast.

Gabriel uses an app on the iPad for writing practice and letter recognition.

Isabella listens to Pete the Cat. Again. MAN we like that book!

Outdoor fun...

Bekah found a moth on her shirt.

We have a few gymnasts and tumblers in our class. We have beeen reinforcing that OUTSIDE is the place to show off our skills!

Junior put a chair on the back of the trike and drove it to the back of the yard. Once Brayden hopped on to hitch a ride, the bike wouldn't go. Good lesson in things that are heavy versus things that are light!

A meeting of the minds. They are planning something serious.

Joshua was so excited that he wrote the word "RAINBOW" on the porch!

The girls enjoying the books outside in the playhouse.

It was a great week, looking forward to next Thursday and the Daddy & Me Pumpkin Painting at the pumpkin patch!
