Taking Care of Our Teeth!

This week was all about teeth. We spent the week learning about keeping our teeth in tip top shape. We learned about the dentist, and how the dentist helps us. We counted out teeth, and found we all have TWENTY! These are our baby teeth and will fall out and new, bigger teeth will come in their place. We had a dental hygenist, Ms. Leslie, come to visit us and taught us the proper way to brush our teeth- in circles, for two minutes, twice a day. She gave us coloring pages and stickers and even a new toothbrush to take home and use. We painted with toothbrushes using white paint to make the teeth cut outs bright white. We played a sorting game and placed the food pictures in the proper bag-the one with the happy tooth or the sad tooth. We extended the learning and got to name foods that we thought would make our teeth happy, or make our teeth sad. We all know by now that the thing that our teeth the most sad is SUGAR!

Monday we celebrated Brayden's "1/2" birthday. He is now officially 5 and a half. We don't always celebrate half birthdays, but Brayden has a summer birthday and doesn't get to celebrate at school, so we recognized his half birthday. He chose to have brownies for snack and he got to help make them in the kitchen with Miss Beth.

On Wednesday, Miss Britney came for a visit! We had not seen her since she left at Christmastime, and we got to meet her new baby, Parker. We were excited to see Miss Britney and VERY curious about her baby. Lots of learning going on with her coming over to see us.

Here are some more fun pictures from our week:

On Monday we will celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday! Your child is welcome to dress as their favorite Dr. Seuss character or just dress silly for the day! Some ideas are-mismatched socks, two different shoes, shirt on backwards, stripes mixed with polka dots, etc. It will be a day of fun activities and all things Seuss!
